Warmer In The Winter

Your conservatory is often too cold because your existing roof panels have little to no insulation. This means that the heat inside of the conservatory flows out through the panels, rather than staying in the room.

At Green Space UK, our insulated conservatory roofing panels give you a warmer conservatory that retains heat in the winter. The insulation inside of our panels helps to restrict the flow of heat through the roof, meaning that the warmth inside of the room stays put. What was once a cold and unusable room is transformed into a warm, cosy and usable space in less than a day.

Let's look at some science to give you an idea of how much better our panels are at insulating compared to other conservatory roof insulation options. Insulation is rated using something called U-value. This is a number given to different materials that describes how fast heat can move through each material. The lower the number, the better the material is at insulating!

  • 4mm thick Polycarbonate conservatory roof material has a U-value of 3.8.
  • 25mm thick polycarbonate conservatory roofing has a U-value of 1.4.
  • Triple glazing has a U-value of 1.2.
  • Solar glazing has a U-value of 1.

At Green Space UK, our conservatory roofs have a U-value of 0.29.

That means our replacement conservatory roofs insulate your conservatory 92% better than polycarbonate, 75% better than triple glazing and 71% better than Solar glazing.

This means conservatories with our insulated panels will keep you warmer in winter than your old conservatory roof insulation. This is particularly important with the rising cost of utilities across the UK. A poorly insulated conservatory roof is literally leaking money all winter. Basic conservatory insulation installation can help, but often times this is just a stopgap measure. A purpose-built replacement conservatory roof with built-in insulation functions far better in terms of U-value. In fact, it performs similarly to a normal insulated roof.

Conservatory roof insulation also helps protect against another issue many people face in winter, which is condensation. When warm humid air in our homes comes into contact with a cold, poorly insulated conservatory roof, it forms water droplets on the inside of the roof. This moisture can then drip down onto paint, insulation, carpet or whatever else is in the conservatory, leading to problems with mould and water damage affecting the entire conservatory structure and causing a smell. You could try running a dehumidifier to fix this issue, but it would need to be on nearly 24/7 to prevent the problem, which costs money over time.

If your existing conservatory roof has this issue, a better-insulated conservatory roof could be the perfect solution to fix it. With better conservatory insulation, you prevent condensation, water damage, and smells, all while staying warmer in winter!

A warmer conservatory in the coldest of weathers

Minimal Heat Transfer - The insulation inside of the panels helps prevent the heat in your conservatory leaving the room, giving you a warm, usable space

Damp Effective - With a warmer space, you should benefit from less problems with mould and damp inside of the room in comparison to an un-insulated space

Cosy and Warm - Rather than shutting the space off, you can create an inviting room to relax in on those cold winter evenings

With a Green Space UK conservatory roof, you can have a conservatory that is useable all year round, whatever the weather. Our bespoke design process means that installation takes less than a day. No mess, no fuss, no hassle.

The panels are made of two sheets of powder coated and baked aluminium and wrapped around a thick layer of high density insulation. They are cut to the exact dimensions of your existing conservatory roofing framework, and hand welded by our experts. All of the hard work takes place here in our UK factory, so on installation day all that we need to do is swap your existing panels out with your new, insulated panels. All that you need to do is choose the colour!

As each panel is bespoke, so are our prices - however quotations are completely free and no obligation, so you have nothing to lose. We are a family run business based in Hampshire and since 2013 we have transformed over 12,000 conservatories into useable rooms throughout the country. We know that our product works and our customers are testament to that.

Have noticed a big difference in the warmth in the conservatory and can now use it in the coldest of weather - Janet, Banbury.
