This month’s Charity was The TYA Ward at Southampton Hospital.

This ward is focused on looking after Teens and Young Adults with different types of cancer, leukaemia, and brain tumours.

It is set up for patients aged 16+, allowing them to move from the children’s ward and be treated with others of a similar age, going through similar thing. It also gives them somewhere to be treated after they are 18 if they don’t feel quite ready to go to the adults’ wards.

It’s run by a dedicated team of specialists who have expert knowledge and experience, and advise teams in other hospitals across the world. The nurses working on the unit have all chosen to work specifically with young people with cancer and even undertake extra training to be able to do so.

At Green Space UK we did a bit of inhouse fundraising and have donated £5 for every sale so our total raised for The TYA Ward is £815
