As you may already know, in 2022 we will be supporting a different charity each month. These charities are local or staff-nominated, and this month we are going to be supporting Cornwall Hospice Care – a charity nominated by our Head of Marketing, Lewis.
Lewis is going to be running the half marathon at the Bournemouth Bay Run on April 3rd to raise even more funds for this fantastic charity!
So who are Cornwall Hospice Care?
“In April 2006 the Mount Edgcumbe Hospice and St Julia’s Hospice charities formerly merged into the single charity Cornwall Hospice Care, a truly Cornish charity.
As a charity we aim to deliver specialist care to those struggling with complex symptoms triggered by life limiting illnesses. It’s not just cancer, but other illnesses such as Motor Neurone disease and heart and lung diseases. We also offer practical, emotional and spiritual support to them, their family and their carers.
We support patients, their families and their carers in an atmosphere of respect and genuine warmth, which is positive, but not falsely optimistic. Many of our in and out patients describe the hospices as sanctuary’s, and those who visit over a number of years refer to us as their second home.”

As part of our Charity of the Month scheme, we’ll be doing some inhouse fundraising as well as donating £5 per sale. So far we’ve raised £1000 for Dorset Mind and £1059 for BUGS so we’re excited to help Cornwall Hospice Care and support Lewis with his half marathon this month!
