We write this in a period of relative calm, the sun is streaming in through the conservatory office windows and all is well with the weather and the world. Flash back to this time last week though and the UK was in the eye of various storms, from Dennis, to Eunice and Franklin. They caused havoc for travel, people, animals and of course property and anyone who was not affected should count their blessings.

As you might imagine, insurance claims went, (if you will pardon the pun) through the roof - the nationwide repair bill is estimated to be more than £500million after winds of up to 122mph battered the UK. With such a high glass content and more fragile structures, you can bet the humble conservatory will be high on the repair agenda. However, in and amongst the wreckage and repair, this may well be a time to reflect on how you have been using your conservatory.

You have been using it haven’t you? Or, like many homeowners do you tend to be fighting a never ending battle between your conservatory being too hot in the summer and too cold in the winter? If so, we can help you. We work with customers who want to keep their conservatory warmer in the winter and cooler in the summer by fitting solid, insulated roofs. This has been made much simpler due to the relaxation of planning laws which means it is often possible to do so without planning permission. Ultimately, this leads to a room that is usable and more enjoyable all year round.

So if you are looking at a repair after the chaos of the winter storms, why not go a step further and actually renovate your conservatory with us, bringing a new lease of life to your garden room, office or whatever else you use your conservatory for?
