Wow! What a weekend of weather!
There will be many folk out this morning checking for damage from “Storm Corrie” and “Storm Malik”, especially those of us with conservatories. There’s always that creeping feeling of dread that a falling branch may have wreaked havoc with the glazing, or any other flying debris for that matter…
Which reminded us of the rather bizarre stone-throwing in glass houses incident that occured recently, courtesy of one campaigner’s somewhat unfortunate media appearance. You know the one. It was when Angela Terry railed against conservatories and their environmental impact whilst, you guessed it, sitting in her conservatory! Now, whilst the irony did amuse us, Angela did make some important points that we should all be aware of, in so far as TRADITIONALLY built conservatories’ inefficient heat loss/gain are contributing to global warming. But that’s the only thing upon which we will agree with her.
Although Green Space is not a conservatory manufacturer, we are the UK’s leading thermal insulated conservatory roofing upgrade system. So we can advise categorically that neither glass, nor blinds, will solve anyone’s conservatory heat regulation problems. That’s why, since 2013, Green Space has been the only company to take the existing glass or polycarbonate out of UK homeowners’ conservatory roof frames and replace them with bespoke 75mm-thick hand-crafted thermo-insulated aluminium panels. This gives our customers an extra, fully usable living space for the next 30+ years, with up to 80% energy savings. A tiny carbon footprint for us - and far smaller energy bills for our 8000+ customers. From June 2022, any conservatory intended as part of a new development will need to show it will not create 'unwanted solar gain' - well, we’ve been fighting this good fight since 2013.
So, reclaim your conservatory today, visit www.greenspaceconservatories.co.uk or call 0800 652 5157 and we’ll send an expert round for a free quote and advice that you can trust. Meanwhile, beware of people in glass houses, however well-intentioned they are.
